About The Position

ADEC empowers people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives in their communities. ADEC fulfills our mission through a variety of services, including residential living, day program activities, music and recreational therapies, employment services and transportation. Celebrating our 70th anniversary in 2022, ADEC is a well-respected agency in the community with 300+ employees providing services to over 1,000 individuals and their families in the Elkhart and St Joseph counties. ADEC’s day service options includes 5 locations throughout Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. The Director of Adult Habilitation Services provides leadership and oversight to to these program locations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills required.
  • Must have experience with the IDD population, leading programs toward excellence, and day service programming.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and directing vocational opportunities for clients, ensuring that activities meet Person Centered Individual Support Plan (PCISP).
  • Maintaining a strong presence in all assigned locations to have a direct understanding of the clients, staff, and program and facility needs.
  • Oversee supervision, training, development, and evaluation of all staff assigned to Adult Habilitation Services. Directly supervise Team Managers.
  • Overseeing and implementation of the Adult Habilitation Services budget, measuring results throughout the year and reporting on progress monthly.
  • Managing clients' funding contracts, such as NOA, Community Support Budget, and private pay.
