About The Position

The Director of Campus Ministry provides visionary pastoral leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of Catholic campus ministry at the University of Central Florida. This role is responsible for setting strategic direction, managing staff and resources, and fostering a vibrant faith community rooted in Catholic teaching and the vision of the Bishop of the Diocese of Orlando. The Director oversees program development, liturgical celebrations, student formation, and service initiatives, while collaborating with the Chaplain, campus partners, local clergy, diocesan entities, and the broader Church. Key responsibilities include staff supervision and development, budget management, strategic planning, and ensuring that all ministry programs support the spiritual growth and well-being of students. The purpose of Catholic Campus Ministry in the Diocese is to help students grow in their adult faith and foster a religiously vibrant spiritual community among students. The Director serves as a primary liaison with the Diocese of Orlando, ensuring that as an office of the Diocese all relevant policies and protocols are followed. Requirements

  • Practice of the Catholic faith is required. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the Diocese.
  • Master’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry (or related field) from an accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years’ experience in Campus Ministry or comparable pastoral ministry experience with youth, including practical diocesan-level ministry leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience cultivating and working with donors and major gifts. Certification in Fund Raising preferred or working knowledge of fund-raising standards.
  • Appropriate English language speaking and writing ability for a person in an executive position. Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus.
  • Must be available to participate in evening events and activities at least 2x/week: KnightFire and either Men’s or Women’s group or Formation.
  • Ability to quickly earn the confidence of those with whom this individual collaborates and coordinates information, including other secretariat heads, directors, members of diocesan and parish committees, and clergy.
  • Knowledge of adult faith formation models and methods.
  • Knowledge of how to develop and implement comprehensive campus ministry programming.
  • Working knowledge of the Catholic Church’s catechetical and evangelization documents and publications.
  • Ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries with staff, volunteers, students and donors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people and personalities, including cross-cultural environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Fund Raising preferred or working knowledge of fund-raising standards.
  • Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral leadership, vision, and direction for Catholic Campus Ministry.
  • Establish and oversee pastoral goals, objectives, and strategies for Campus Ministry.
  • Recruit, supervise, and provide ongoing professional development and annual evaluations for ministerial staff, student ministry leaders, and student workers.
  • Maintain vital relationships with UCF and the Diocese of Orlando as well as with ministry partners such as the Brotherhood of Hope and St. Paul’s Outreach.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant diocesan policies.
  • Ensure fiscal integrity and budgetary oversight.
  • Submit, maintain and monitor CCM budget each year.
  • The Director oversees and advances fund development efforts and initiatives. Cultivates, develops, and maintains relationships with donors; establishes routine financial campaigns, capital campaigns, and other fundraising as necessary to fulfill the mission of the Catholic Campus Ministry.
  • Supervise Operations Manager in managing database, bookkeeping, building maintenance, and student interns.
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of all CCM facilities, including tracking capital improvements and ensuring code compliance with all scheduled inspections.
  • The Director oversees and advances fund development efforts and initiatives and manages key donor relationships.
  • Represents Catholic Campus Ministry and the Diocese of Orlando in relationships with the University of Central Florida and external ministry partners.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
