About The Position

The Director of Construction & Facilities will lead all aspects of restaurant construction, remodels, and facilities management across King’s Seafood Company. Reporting to executive leadership, this role is responsible for delivering new restaurants, refreshing existing locations, and ensuring the long-term integrity of the company’s physical assets. The Director will lead a small internal team while coordinating with executives, operations leadership, architects, designers, landlords, and contractors. Beyond project execution, this leader will bring structure, discipline, and forward planning to the construction and facilities function developing systems and processes that support the company’s long-term growth and operational excellence. King’s Seafood Company is a family-owned restaurant company with more than 80 years of hospitality experience. Headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, the company operates six restaurant concepts across five states and more than 20 locations, including Water Grill, King’s Fish House, Pier Burger, and iconic steakhouses such as 555 East, Lou & Mickey’s, and Meat on Ocean Across these brands, King’s Seafood Company is known for iconic locations, elevated dining experiences, and seafood menus that change daily to reflect the best available product. As the company continues to invest in its restaurants and pursue thoughtful growth, King’s Seafood Company is seeking a Director of Construction & Facilities to lead the next evolution of its development and facilities platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • 10+ years in restaurant construction, development, or facilities leadership
  • Experience supporting multi unit restaurant brands
  • Track record delivering ground-up restaurant builds and major remodels
  • Experience managing facilities programs across multiple locations
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and kitchen environments
  • Strategic thinker who can evolve a department, not just manage projects
  • Strong communicator comfortable working with executives and field leadership
  • Detail- orientated operator with a disciplined approach to budgets and schedules
  • Builder of systems, standards, and repeatable processes
  • Hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring and developing teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of new restaurant development projects from site turnover through grand opening.
  • Manage architects, engineers, consultants, and general contractors to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Oversee permitting, bidding and construction administration.
  • Establish and maintain protype standards and construction specifications across brands,
  • Coordinate closely with culinary, operations, IT, and executive leadership throughout the project lifestyle.
  • Develop and execute capital improvement and restaurant remodel/refresh programs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and brand presentation through renovation iniatives.
  • Prioritize and manage remodel pipelines across the restaurant portfolio.
  • Lead the company's repair and maintenance strategy across all restauarants.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend asset life and minimize operational disruption.
  • Manager vendor relationships with field leadership, operations teams, and executive leadership.
  • Introduce greater rigor, visibility, and planning into the department through improved systems and reporting.
  • Develop tools for : Capital planning, budget forecasting, facilities lifecycle management, project scheduling and reporting, create scalable processes that support the company's continued growth.
