About The Position

The Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic, and motivated individual for the position of Director of Events at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. This candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality sales experience essential.

Requirements

3-5 years event catering experience preferred.
Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome
Well organized and detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Display initiative, perseverance and analytical skills

Excellent customer service skills
Team player and ability to get along with others
Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

Lead the overall events strategy to achieve and exceed annual revenue and profitability goals aligned with the hotel’s budget.
Partner with Sales Leadership to establish and execute a targeted sales and marketing plan focused on group and catering business development.
Drive revenue optimization through strategic pricing, upselling initiatives, and comprehensive understanding of market demand.
Assist with the development of banquet menus.
Participate in 30-60-90 day banquet forecasting.
Direct all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring flawless coordination across departments including Banquets, Culinary, and Operations.
Lead conference planning meetings, ensuring alignment on all event details, logistics, and service standards.
Establish and maintain operational standards, processes, and documentation to ensure consistency and excellence in execution.
