Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in building maintenance, repair, or construction, with school facility management preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and work orders.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with previous supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate maintenance and custodial staff to ensure efficient operations, clean and healthy facilities, and timely completion of work orders.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify and prioritize current and future maintenance needs.
  • Act as District’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Coordinator; maintaining ongoing required education to ensure compliance with IMP plan requirements.
  • Assign and coordinate repair, preventative maintenance, and improvement projects across district buildings and grounds.
  • Monitor facility and maintenance budgets, supplies, and equipment inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety codes, regulatory requirements, and district policies related to school facilities; remain informed of changes to applicable laws and requirements.
  • Collaborate with administrators and staff to respond to facility concerns and requests in a timely manner.
  • Advise and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors on larger maintenance and repair projects.
  • Provide hands-on support in building systems, repair and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to emergency situations related to facilities or equipment.
  • Train staff on proper maintenance procedures, safety practices, and equipment use.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of long-range facility improvement projects.
  • Oversee procurement of custodial/maintenance supplies and materials in accordance with the district’s purchasing policies and procedures
