About The Position

Job Summary: Lead and manage a team of Purchasing and Inventory professionals to execute strategies for managed and non-managed products. Make necessary decisions to manage day-to-day operations efficiently. Act as an escalation point of contact and interface with the product management organization on both the Regional and Sub-Regional levels. Job Description: Lead a team of Operative Purchasers to execute transactional requisitions-to-order processes to meet customer expectations. Lead a team of Inventory Professionals to execute operational inventory to support current and forecasted customer demands and optimize site capabilities and regional efficiency. Act as a liaison with Regional Product Management to create alignment at both the Regional and Sub-Regional level Ensure compliance to corporate and departmental policies. Manage the workload of purchasers to minimize backlog and enable smooth operations. Act as an escalation point for the procurement process Manage the transactional requisitions-to-order process to improve systems and/or processes. Provide reporting on documented cost savings from optimizing the purchasing of non-managed products. Authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise. Train and develop personnel. Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine strategic direction on purchasing decisions and inventory levels. Communicate to the field supplier direction and market information. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with vendors and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, walk, and sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
