About The Position

Charlotte City Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Catering Sales to lead and grow the Club’s catering and private event business. This full-time, on-site leadership role requires a dynamic sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven ability to build relationships, drive revenue, and deliver exceptional event experiences. This role will focus heavily on developing new business opportunities, strengthening community relationships, and building a strong event sales pipeline while partnering closely with operations and culinary teams to ensure flawless event execution. This position will require an average of approximately 50 hours per week to develop sales opportunities, support event execution, and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Catering Sales, Event Sales, or Hospitality Sales
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales goals in a high-volume environment
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities within the local market
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Minimum 2 years of catering sales or event management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Private club, upscale hotel, or resort experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with TripleSeat or similar event management software is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Hospitality preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all catering and private event sales operations for the Club
  • Drive new revenue through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building in the Charlotte market
  • Oversee event planning coordination to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences
  • Develop strategies to meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, members, and local organizations
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, and service teams to deliver high-quality events
  • Maintain flexibility to be present during key event and peak business periods
