About The Position

The Director proactively works to prevent situations that can result in losses or liability. Situations can include, but are not limited to, patient privacy breaches, clinical or medication errors, and hazardous conditions. Responsible for implementing and executing a defined clinical and quality improvement program or project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum one (1) year of Management required.
  • Understanding of clinical care and healthcare organization operations.
  • Demonstrates sound leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of process improvement/risk management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying risks of the hospital as a means to reduce injury to patients, staff, and visitors within the organization.
  • Monitors the actions of hospital staff or their work environments to check for issues of compliance with existing policies and procedures.
  • Reports findings and solutions to immediate issues, as well as plans for potential future issues or emergencies, to CEO.
  • Works proactively and reactively to either prevent incident or to minimize the damages following an event.
  • Answers questions about existing policies and procedures and develops new policies and procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for reviewing any changes in legislation and regulations impacting the field of healthcare.
  • Assists department managers with education about risk, liability and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the development of risk management training programs and speaks directly with staff.
  • Makes rounds regularly and acts as a resource so staff regarding risk management concerns.
  • Provides input on clinical and quality issues and how the organization can make strong cases for improvement in areas such as infections, mitigation of errors, and improved safety culture.
  • Maintains all Quality data for the organization.
  • Creates and provides leadership for successful planning and execution of process improvement projects or programs.
  • Manages functions, systems, documentation, and procedures for the successful conduct and audit of the process improvement program.
  • Oversees the creation of educational resources for improvement initiative; ensuring sufficient resources are in place to provide expert timely support of the program. Manages these resources to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Function within the organization as an advocate for continuous improvement, professional development, and as a model for Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital's culture and values.
  • Improves strategies for driving organizational culture change, and better understand how operational processes within healthcare organizations can be leveraged.
