About The Position

The Director of the Trauma Program is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial health of the Trauma Center. This high-impact leadership role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversees 8 FTEs. You will coordinate research, education, and trauma operations while serving as the primary liaison with local and regional trauma systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience (e.g., Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Coordinator).
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma verification/re-verification processes and clinical research methodology.
  • Exceptional communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and ensure optimal care for trauma patients from admission to discharge.
  • Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews.
  • Monitor clinical processes and system issues to identify trends and improve outcomes.
  • Design and oversee the trauma registry to support research and performance improvement while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Monitor and enhance the financial performance and resource utilization of the Trauma Center.
  • Conduct rounds, coordinate with trauma surgeons and ED nurses, and address patient/system concerns to ensure seamless operations.
