About The Position

The Director of Sales & Event Services is responsible for driving revenue generation, strategic sales growth, and market positioning for all private and non-game day events hosted at the Dragons Diamond Club. This role leads all sales initiatives, prospecting efforts, client acquisition, and assists the Director of Operations & Event Services manager with marketing strategy for the event center, with a strong focus on business development and community presence. Upon contract execution and deposit receipt, events are formally transitioned to the Director of Operations & Event Services, who oversees event detailing, logistics, and on-site execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all sales efforts for the Diamond Club for non-game day events and respond to all event center inquiries
  • Conduct all Diamond Club tours for prospective clients and convert leads into booked business
  • Prospect for new business through targeted outreach focused on corporate, association, education, SMERF, nonprofit, wedding, and local markets
  • Develop and execute proactive sales strategies to drive year-round bookings and maximize revenue
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the Dayton business and hospitality community to increase awareness and generate referrals
  • Attend networking events, industry meetings, and sales organizations to support revenue growth and market visibility
  • Partner with Ticketing and Corporate Sales to identify cross selling and upselling opportunities tied to game day experiences
  • Develop and maintain event packages and pricing structures including room rentals, catering offerings in partnership with PSC, fact sheets, and wedding collections
  • Lead marketing initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Operations & Event Services, including monthly marketing calendars, email campaigns, and social media strategy
  • Identify and evaluate strategic marketing opportunities including wedding shows, trade shows, and exhibition events to expand market reach
  • Position the Diamond Club as a premier year-round event destination aligned with Dayton Dragons brand standards
  • Create and present proposals, contracts, and sales agreements
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to maximize profitability while maintaining Dragons brand standards
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, lead tracking, and forecasting to ensure revenue targets are met
  • Transition contracted events to the Director of Operations & Event Services for event detailing, BEO development, and day of execution
  • Work closely with PSC, the in-house catering partner, to align menu offerings and pricing strategies that support sales objectives
  • Partner with the Director of Operations & Event Services to ensure a seamless transition from sales to execution
  • Maintain a master calendar for all event spaces to optimize booking opportunities and space utilization
  • Attend regular leadership meetings with EVP/AGM to review performance, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
