You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in. Ferguson is currently seeking a General Manager for our Regional Distribution Center in Coxsackie, NY. This leader will be responsible for driving associate engagement, safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across a multi-shift, high-volume operation supporting B2B, B2C, and branch replenishment. The role oversees all functional areas of the Regional Distribution Center and is accountable for delivering operational excellence while advancing a culture focused on safety, customer service, and continuous process improvement. The Coxsackie, NY facility is located just 30 minutes outside of Albany and is 465K square feet with oversight over a team of 130 hourly associates and 10 salaried associates. The Opportunity: To lead and inspire the development of associates and management team by demonstrating a strong shown understanding of distribution operations and the ability to “bring out the best” in our people through empowerment and team member engagement while delivering excellent customer service. Responsible for setting and achieving a safe work environment, our quality standards and engaging the team to deliver productivity goals for the Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • This position requires a result oriented, high energy, dynamic individual with high energy, emotional intelligence, and insightfulness to work and thrive in a fast paced, high growth Distribution Center.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years direct management/leadership experience in a big box operating environment, including a salaried workforce in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
  • E-commerce fulfillment experience (direct to consumer).
  • Extensive experience with automated WMS, TMS systems, and other mechanized processes.
  • Experience with material handling and packaging equipment to include Autostore, conveyance, boxing, and wrapping equipment.
  • Prior experience working in an LMS/Labor or Engineered standard environment
  • Excellent proactive communication skills with all levels of management and staff
  • Experience with activity-based performance metrics, process improvement, and lean thinking with a track record of delivering ‘outstanding operations and performance.
  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders and peers across the organization to anticipate, identify, recommend, and implement creative operational and customer service solutions.
  • Decisive, fair, and consistent approach to associate communication and interaction.
  • Strong customer service and collaborative approach.

  • MBA / higher level degree preferred but not required.
