See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: The Distribution Center Shipping Supervisor at our Menomonee Falls, WI, location leads a high‑performing team responsible for safely, accurately, and efficiently shipping customer orders across Parcel, LTL, TL, and international channels. This leader is passionate about customer experience, driven by results, and committed to developing talent. The role champions continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen), manages key shipping performance metrics, and collaborates closely with Operations, Transportation/Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service to deliver outstanding service at the best possible cost. Essential Functions: Safety & Compliance Champion a safety‑first culture through daily huddles, near‑miss reporting, behavior‑based observations, and corrective actions; ensure full adherence to OSHA and company safety policies. Oversee hazardous materials compliance across all transport modes, including proper classification, packaging, labeling/marking, documentation, and employee certifications. Ensure compliance with international shipping requirements (Incoterms, commercial invoices, packing lists) in collaboration with Trade Compliance. Maintain audit‑ready documentation and lead internal/external audits, including CTPAT. Leadership & Talent Development Develop and support a high‑performing team of shipping leads and associates. Foster a high‑trust environment built on accountability, coaching, recognition, and transparent communication. Build robust succession and cross‑training plans to ensure role, system, and certification coverage. Operational Excellence Own on‑time shipping performance across parcel, LTL, TL, and international networks. Ensure packaging quality that prevents transit damage, including correct material selection, dunnage, void fill, and adherence to packaging SOPs and audit standards. Partner with Inventory Control and Picking teams to prevent customer defects and resolve discrepancies prior to shipment. Maintain shipping supplies and equipment (labeling systems, printers, RF devices) to ensure operational readiness. Achieve or exceed OTIF / Promise Ship Date targets; proactively communicate risks and recovery actions to Customer Service. Resolve escalations—address corrections, re‑routes, premium expedites—with urgency and sound judgment. Systems & Process Management Within the Transportation Management Systems (TMS), oversee routing activities including: carrier selection, manifesting, labeling, and documentation. Operate effectively within the Warehouse Management System to track order progress and location. Optimize mode and carrier selection based on service, cost, constraints, and customer requirements; collaborate with Transportation on routing guides and carrier scorecards. Continuous Improvement & Quality Lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives including 5S, standard work, visual management, and daily performance boards. Drive root cause analysis for all shipping defects (late, mis‑ship, OS&D, damage) and implement corrective and preventive actions. Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in distribution/fulfillment shipping operations, including 3+ years in people leadership.
  • Proficient in international shipping, Incoterms, and export documentation; practical knowledge of CTPAT practices.
  • Certified or hands-on experience with hazardous materials shipping across modes and SDS handling.
  • Prior experience leading a small parcel and/or direct to consumer fulfillment operation.
  • Strong understanding of TL/LTL/Parcel execution, dock operations, and carrier performance.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (e.g., ShipLinx, SwanLeap) and Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle).
  • Proven track record driving continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen) and root cause problem solving.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, building, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven record of building relationships with cross-functional business partners and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: IATA/IMDG Hazmat, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt+), ASCM CLTD or CPIM.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing Oracle WMS and TMS integrations.
  • Packaging quality experience; familiarity with damage‑prevention best practices.
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools
