About The Position

A leading healthcare system is seeking a seasoned Division Laboratory Director to oversee laboratory operations across multiple hospitals within a regional division. This executive-level leadership role is responsible for driving laboratory quality, operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance across all facilities. The Division Laboratory Director partners closely with hospital executives, pathology medical directors, and service line leaders to implement strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science – Required
Minimum 5+ years of laboratory leadership experience (Director or Manager level)
Background as a Medical Technologist – Required
Multi-site laboratory leadership experience (regional or national level)
Strong knowledge of hospital laboratory operations, finance, and regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field – Preferred

Responsibilities

Provide oversight of laboratory operations across multiple hospitals within the division
Develop and implement laboratory service strategies, standardized test menus, and equipment platforms
Conduct operational assessments and lead process improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accreditation readiness (including CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards)
Oversee budgeting, financial management, and utilization analysis
Collaborate with hospital leadership, pathology medical directors, and service line teams
Support laboratory outreach programs and vendor partnerships
Lead, mentor, and support laboratory directors and management teams across facilities
Drive quality metrics, performance improvement, and operational excellence
