About The Position

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a Division Manager for Field Operations. This position will provide leadership and oversight across all field-based activies by using managerial and inter-personal skills. The position ensures consistency in operational standards, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with strategic goals while working within the agency and with outside agencies. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible adminstrative experience in the field of engineering
  • Requires possession of an Illinois Professional Engineer License
  • Requires completiong of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
  • Requires a valid driver's license
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest.
  • Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position.

Responsibilities

  • Subject to management approval of the Office Director is responsible for administering operations of the Field Operations Division
  • Integrates programmactic responsibilities on an intra-agency basis
  • Directs the preparation of the annual operating budget
  • Directs the development and/or revision of proposed legislation
  • Serves as liaison with COB, EPA and other state and federal agencies in execution of Division programs
  • Serves as a full-line supervisor
  • Directs activities related to the develpment and execution of the capital improvement program
  • Serves as Certified Registered Professional Engineer
  • Serves as liaison with state and non-state individuals and firms
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
