About The Position

Sight & Sound is an organization comprised of people with diverse talents coming together as one in Christ to tell His story through who we are and what we do. The Dresser will provide service to all customers of the Wardrobe Department by ensuring that costume changes are achieved properly and efficiently during show performances and that all Wardrobe properties are maintained at the highest level of quality and attention to creative direction. There is not currently an open Dresser opportunity, but we are seeking applicants in the event of a future opening.

Requirements

  • Desire and ability to learn new methods, develop sewing skills and serve others.
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere as well as ability to work independently on a project or task without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Exhibit initiative, adaptability, self-awareness, a teachable spirit, and a desire to improve.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and to improvise at a moment’s notice.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of theatrical costuming, fittings and alterations.
  • Basic knowledge of the use of industrial, straight and overlock machines preferred.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and exemplify a culture that uphold our Mission, Values and Safety Statements.
  • Support the vision and direction of the team as set forth by the Department Supervisor.
  • Execute pre-sets, quick changes and tracking of wardrobe assets with consistency.
  • Assist in preventive and rehab maintenance and care of wardrobe assets in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in scheduled 1 on 1 and other departmental team meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
