About The Position

The Driver Check-in Clerk is responsible for coordinating driver check-ins, processing delivery paperwork, and ensuring all records related to incoming and outgoing shipments are accurate. This role plays a critical part in maintaining smooth operations, ensuring timely communication with drivers, and resolving any delivery discrepancies. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience with transportation software are essential to this position.

  • Physical requirements: Frequent, sitting, standing and walking, occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years prior experience in warehousing with administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Driver Check-in: Manage the driver check-in process, confirming that all documentation is accurate and complete before processing.
  • Verify Delivery Information: Check Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests, and other relevant documents to ensure deliveries match the scheduled routes and orders.
  • Verify returned products for accurate reason codes (mispicks, driver shorts, refusals) to ensure accounting reports reflect accurate data.
  • Verify returned products are within temperature guidelines to maintain product integrity.
  • Documentation Processing: Process all documents (paper and digital) associated with returns and adjustments to customers’ orders to ensure inventory accuracy and customer invoice accuracy.
  • Inspection of returned product: Inspect all product for appropriate disposition (saleable, damage/recuperation, damage/out of code dumps, etc.…) and ensure proper coding is applied.
  • Returning salable product to staging area for product to be returned to pick locations.
  • Resolve Delivery Discrepancies: work with drivers and Transportation management to address issues and address training/retraining needs and process
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter delivery data into the transportation management system (TMS) and update records as needed.
  • Maintain Accurate Inventory Records: Ensure all shipped and received products are accurately tracked in the system, coordinating with warehouse staff.
  • Adherence to Safety Procedures: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during check-ins and transportation operations.
  • Attendance: Regular and reliable attendance is crucial in supporting the day-to-day transportation operations.
