This is a full-time, professional level position within the Geographic Information System function of the Department of Watershed Management, City of Atlanta. GIS Analyst leverages geospatial and GPS resources to collect data, create maps, perform technical research, spatial analysis, and produce graphic reports. The planning and support of simultaneous tasks and GIS projects with a committed approach to teamwork, interpersonal skills, and collaboration is essential for this role. GIS Analysts are both subject matter experts and cross-functional leaders. The candidate should have the technical agility, focus, and flexibility to work independently and in a group environment and may act as departmental liaison with other internal agencies. Supervision Received: Receives nominal guidance regarding workflow, projects, and objectives. Assigned tasks are typically executed individually with periodic team collaboration.
