The Early Intervention Service Coordinator provides direct service coordination for children in the Infant-Toddler Program and to provide supports to their families/caregivers. Service Coordination is a critical service that is helpful for families/caregivers and it is also required by the federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services provided through the ITP must be compliant with the IDEA, federal regulations, and State policies and procedures. This position as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator is responsible for managing a caseload of children, birth to three. It is located within the catchment area of the Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) of New Bern which serves Carteret, Craven, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, and Pamlico Counties. Duties include travel to and working with families and providers in the catchment to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), work with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families’ needs for supports and services, conduct home visits, coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning, and participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services.
