About The Position

Provides leadership to the Production Solutions segment, to ensure environmental, health and safety compliance through developing positive relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities/Job Duties: Develops and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations as they apply to the organizations operations, including but not limited to: OSHA, EPA and DOT. Manage work related incidents with a focus on case management. Develop and implement employee-training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment, that ensure the health and safety of employees. Identify and develop best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices. Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, training and mentoring to management team, supervisors and leads on safety initiatives and effective safety program ownership Development of an effective Accident Prevention Program using Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and Pareto Management Develop and implement a strong ownership of safety through a behavior-based safety program Directs EH&S project(s) including project design and schedule to meet objectives. Directs the development of short and long-term EH&S objectives and recommends goals to management. Ensure compliance with timely reporting as required by state and federal health safety regulations and statues Maintain environmental reports and reporting (i.e. including Storm water permits, SPCC, etc.) Interfaces effectively with peers and peer organizations – Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Continuous Improvement, Field Services and Quality– to achieve company goals and objectives Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience in policy development and implementation Five years of related HSE experience in Field Service or Manufacturing Environment Proficiency in HSE reporting systems such as ISNetworld and PEC Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated record of success Direct experience managing HSE in plant operations Excellent written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft word and excel. History of credibility in mentoring and forging positive working relationships with the operations team, plant staff and leadership team Must be able to be “on-call” for emergencies when necessary. Skilled in organization, prioritization and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment OSHA 30-Hour Certification Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EHS management software or Learning Management Systems (LMS). First Aid/CPR certification or other relevant safety certifications. Knowledge of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 standards is a plus. Six Sigma Green Belt Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to communicate verbally using a telephone Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens Working Conditions Office environment with controlled temperatures Subject to outdoor environment with adjusting temperatures and climate Ability to travel 25% with or without prior notice Qualifications Qualifications: A minimum of 1-3 years full-time Safety related is required. Associate Degree in Occupational Safety or a closely related field is preferred, but not required and can be substituted for work experience. High school diploma or equivalent. One or more of the following professional certifications is preferred, but not required; COSS, OHST, CHST, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as moderate to advanced computer and presentation skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Candidate will be required to develop and revise policies and procedures as well as develop and present high-level presentations and training. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; walk; kneel; stoop; use hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Will occasionally be required to climb or balance. The EHS Technician, Field Service must maintain a valid drivers license. This position will be in the Carlsbad, NM area, but requires availability for up to 5-10% travel as the need arises.

Requirements
