About The Position

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Electrical Aircraft Technician. This position will be working on a traveling team for 4 years (through September 2028) with the possibly to various locations and will be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The candidate will currently start in Las Vegas, NV. The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment. Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

  • Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber (preferably F-16) aircraft maintenance as an electrician.
  • Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors
  • Must have a minimum of an active U.S. SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Do you have the ability to pass a background check to be granted access to the specific working location installation bases to perform work for GMRE?
  • Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Permanent Travel through September 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment.
  • Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
  • Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
