Electrical Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)
About The Position
Our mission at Skyryse is nothing less than a new era in flight, where fatalities are nearly zero, piloting any aircraft is simple and safe, and the sky is accessible to all. SkyOS, our industry-first universal operating system for flight, provides any airplane or helicopter with a fly-by-wire flight management solution that significantly reduces the complexity of flying. Skyryse One, our first production aircraft powered by SkyOS, was unveiled in 2024 and features the simplest, safest, and most intuitive flight controls in general aviation. Electrical Engineering Intern - El Segundo, CA The Electrical Engineering team at Skyryse is responsible for the design, layout, and testing of all electrical aspects of the SkyOS system. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll work closely with a team of industry veterans to advance the mission of making flight simpler and safer for everyone. This internship is based in our El Segundo office. The Summer Intern Program will run for 12 weeks starting in May / June depending on your academic calendar.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Graduating between December 2026 & June 2027.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in any ECAD program (Altium Preferred).
- Previous internship experience or relevant project experience in mixed signal, power, or motor controls.
- Experience with standard bench test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.)
- Coursework in analog/digital circuits, PCBA design and layout, power electronics, and/or motor control electronics are a plus.
- Experience with PCBA rework and harnessing.
- Experience in C, Python, or any other widely used programming languages.
- A strong interest in General Aviation!
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other Engineers to design, layout, manufacture and test of custom PCBAs and harnesses.
- Generation of design and test documentation and processes.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams across Skyryse to ensure integrated product success.
- Participate in analysis of current system performance to guide future improvements.
