About The Position

The Construction Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to electrical construction projects. This role leads electrical crews, ensures work is performed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating with senior superintendent, project management, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients to successfully deliver projects from start to completion.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, including leadership or supervisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
  • Thorough understanding of NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage field operations effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician
  • Experience as an Electrical Superintendent on large-scale projects
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Strong computer skills (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate electrical foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors on job sites
  • Assign daily work activities and manpower to meet project schedules and productivity goals
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork in the field
  • Plan and sequence electrical work in coordination with the project schedule
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accurate installation
  • Identify and resolve constructability issues in the field
  • Monitor progress and adjust resources as needed to maintain schedule
  • Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety plans
  • Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and inspections
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, local codes, and project requirements
  • Maintain high workmanship standards and ensure installations meet contract documents
  • Perform regular inspections of work in progress and completed work
  • Coordinate inspections with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical field operations
  • Coordinate with other trades to minimize conflicts and delays
  • Communicate labor needs, schedule updates, and field conditions to project management
  • Track manpower, daily reports, and productivity
  • Assist with material planning, deliveries, and inventory control
  • Support project close-out activities, including punch lists and as-built documentation
