About The Position

If so, the Physical Plant division of Wake County General Services Administration would like to meet you! We are seeking qualified applicants for our Senior Electrical Technician position. Primary Duties: Complete the repair or replacement of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm systems and related devices in Wake County facilities. Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of building infrastructure. Assist in performing required testing of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm and related systems. Complete routine, preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned including power outages, fire alarm troubles, generator failures etc. Monitors work progress completed by contractors. Enter information on work orders including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) NOTE: A criminal background and credit check will be conducted.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in electrical maintenance
  • Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.

Nice To Haves

  • Nicet level 1
  • Knowledge of commercial building Electrical Systems, Fire systems, Generators
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders and various schematics
  • Knowledge of relevant Electrical codes and regulations

  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills
  • Ability to work off ladders and motorized lifts
