Works under general supervision to perform journeyman-level work, such as repairing and maintaining electrical wiring; evaluating layout plans and cost estimates; installing new systems; repairing existing electrical high and low voltage electrical systems; performing minor rebuilding tasks; and repairing or replacing miscellaneous equipment. Ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment in the District. Inspects electrical installations of contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes. Evaluates and estimates the cost of electrical repair and minor installations for new and/or remodeled projects. Plans layout and installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Responds to electrical emergency situations, when requested. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
