About The Position

This hands-on role supports the production floor by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high‑speed automated packaging machinery and related support equipment. Responsibilities also include contributing to cost‑saving initiatives, process improvements, and facility maintenance. This is a 1st shift position (6:00 am – 2:30 pm).

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required; Associate degree with emphasis in electrical/electronic or automation preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with electrical components (drives, power supplies, amplifiers, transformers, relays, capacitors, resistors, reed/limit switches, photoelectric devices).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits using resistance, current, and voltage measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic circuits.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, part diagrams, and assembly layouts.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, alignment, and disassembly of moderate complexity.
  • Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, feeler gauges) for troubleshooting and verification.
  • Create simple sketches for repairs or modifications.
  • Communicate effectively with OEMs and outside vendors for troubleshooting and specialized tasks.
  • Track and report systemic equipment issues to engineering.
  • Safely operate hand and shop tools including grinders, sanders, band saws, drill presses, manual mills, and hand drills.
  • Apply basic metalworking skills (drilling, tapping, filing, reaming, milling).
  • Ability to interpret complex instructions, blueprints, sketches, and schematics.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding of high-speed packaging and auxiliary machinery in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This includes but is not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, facility, and grounds.
  • Independently diagnose root causes of mechanical, electro‑mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment issues and perform repairs.
  • Keep all manufacturing lines up and running and assist manufacturing and engineering teams with problems relating to packaged product quality and machine safety, including use of lock out / tag out procedures.
  • Support maintenance of facility & grounds equipment & building security systems.
  • Follow and implement safety and housekeeping procedures, including participating in 6S activities.
  • Maintain, identify, and replenish spare parts and tool inventory, ensuring timely replenishment of hand tools, power tools, and consumables.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify developing issues and schedule necessary repairs.
  • Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work areas.
  • Track machine downtime each shift to support machine maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in team events and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
