About The Position

Electronic Technician II Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for an Electronic Technician II . The Electronic Technician II will provide Engineering Technical support for modernization and upgrade initiatives for Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS). Located in Virginia beach, VA. Job Description: Provide support for CEC live and simulated testing in a lab environment to include operation and maintenance. Provide support for SSDS live and simulated testing in a lab environment to include operation and maintenance Utilize proper storage, handling and security procedures to ensure safe and accurate accountability for all classified devices The Electronic Technician II shall provide lab management of the LBTS Hardware Lab and NSWC DNA. The support will include: Inventory tracking Coordination of shipping and receiving material Organization of assets Compliance to NSWC material management policies Assist in configuration and testing of system equipment Assist in equipment assembly as needed Equipment movement (Labor as needed) Move equipment using pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed to accommodate equipment installation and removals Evaluates components, assemblies, and test equipment with Quality Assurance (QA) tools to ensure compliance with requirements. Perform configuration management (CM) duties for various Technical Data Packages (TDPs). Provide design modifications based on Commercial Off the Shelf (COTs) components for obsolete parts and for modernization initiatives. Fabricate various types of commercial and shipboard type connectors for equipment being used in LBTS. This position is required to be able to work all shifts and weekends when required to support ongoing efforts and tasking.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel)
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience with naval systems and/or SSDS.
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance and meet base access requirements.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
  • Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with laboratory management and hardware testing preferred.
  • CANES system design experience preferred.
  • Fabricating and Testing Fiber optic, power, and networking cables preferred.
