About The Position

In-person tutors will support elementary school students in Math and English Language Arts (ELA). Tutors will work directly with students in Grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, providing academic support to strengthen foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. This role involves working closely with classroom teachers and school staff to reinforce classroom instruction and help students build confidence and academic success. The program run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• Passion for Learning: Dedicated to supporting academic and personal success, especially for underserved students.
• Strong Academics: Degree-seeking student or graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Education or a relevant field.
• Committed and Flexible: Available to work 10-35 hours per week at an assigned school (or virtual program) and participate in monthly training.
• Collaborative Spirit: Ready to work alongside teachers, school leaders, and fellow tutors to maximize student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects like Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Regents exam prep.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging, personalized learning strategies that help students thrive academically and personally.
