About The Position
Horizon Resources is a cooperative supporting our local communities. The Grain Operations position is a key role within our grain locations as the main point of contact for our customers delivering grain. Grain Operators are responsible for unloading grain, accurately measuring grain volume and quality, and working as an important part of our team. Horizon Resources prides itself on working as one team by doing things the right way for our customers and each other. This job description is intended to highlight the essential responsibilities of this position. It is not intended as a list of all tasks performed in this role. Employees may have other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights of 100 feet or more.
- Previous experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operations Responsibilities Provide service to customers
- Maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Dump and load grain
- Grade grain
- Monitor grain quality in bins.
- Proactively ask / address issues that may negatively impact the quality of the grain in each setting.
- Monitor and report on inventory levels.
- Operate grain scales
- Identify and recommend ideas to complete the work safer and more efficiently.
- Safety Responsibilities Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Identify and report safety hazard or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
