About The Position
JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time • Location: Carrollton, GA • Service Setting: Hospital Emergency Department • Schedule: Approximately 16 shifts per month with a mix of day and night coverage PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics presenting with acute and emergent medical conditions • Average Daily Volume / Census: Carrollton ED approximately 65,000 visits annually; Villa Rica ED approximately 45,000 visits annually • Admissions & Rounding: Admissions coordinated through hospital services; no inpatient rounding required • Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes, with specialty consultation available as needed • Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Full-spectrum emergency medicine including trauma, medical emergencies, acute illness, and injury stabilization FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS • Beds in Department/Unit: Carrollton Emergency Department – 40 beds; Villa Rica Emergency Department – 36 beds • Trauma Designation: Both Emergency Departments designated as Level II Trauma Centers • EMR System: EPIC electronic medical record system • Specialty Backup: Full specialty support available through the Tanner Health System • Support Staff: Advanced Practice Providers including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants • Leadership & Reporting Structure: Physician-led democratic emergency medicine group • Reason for Opening: Continued growth and sustained community demand for emergency care services CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE • Board Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine • DEA & Certifications: Active DEA required; ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications preferred • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days COMPENSATION & PERMANENT BENEFITS • Incentive Bonus Structure: Partnership track beginning in year three with average partner compensation around $450,000 • Relocation Assistance: Up to $14,000 relocation assistance available • CME Allowance: CME allowance and paid CME time available • PTO & Holidays: Flexible scheduling structure with defined monthly shift expectations • Health & Retirement Benefits: • Comprehensive benefits package provided by the physician group • Retirement plan options available • Life and disability insurance coverage • Malpractice insurance fully covered by the group • Additional Incentives: $50,000 sign-on bonus and $50,000 starting incentive REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine • State License Required: Eligible for or able to obtain a Georgia medical license • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS preferred • Experience: Open to both experienced physicians and newly trained Emergency Medicine physicians • Additional Requirements: Ability to work within a collaborative, physician-led emergency medicine group DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illness and injury • Rapidly evaluate, diagnose, and stabilize patients across a wide spectrum of medical conditions • Coordinate care with hospital specialists, nursing staff, and advanced practice providers • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EPIC electronic medical record system • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices COMMUNITY & LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS • About the Area: Carrollton, Georgia is a thriving community in west Georgia known for its strong healthcare system, vibrant downtown, and welcoming small-town atmosphere. • Local Attractions: Carrollton GreenBelt trail system, local parks, cultural arts venues, and nearby lakes and outdoor recreation opportunities. • School System: Carroll County offers well-regarded public schools along with several private and charter school options. • Housing: Affordable housing options including family neighborhoods, new developments, and rural properties with access to larger metropolitan amenities. • Demographic & Professional Profile: Family-friendly community with a growing population of professionals and healthcare workers. • Nearby Cities: Approximately 45 miles west of Atlanta. • Nearest Airport: Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport • Distance from Airport: Approximately 50 miles – about 1 hour by car
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Eligible for or able to obtain a Georgia medical license
- Active DEA required
- Ability to work within a collaborative, physician-led emergency medicine group
