About The Position

Primary Purpose: To provide quality patient care by assisting the physician and/or registered nurse.

Age Specific Competencies: Provides care to neonates (birth to 6 weeks), infants (birth -2 years), children (2 yrs-12 yrs.), adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.

Population Specific Competencies: Recognizes the importance of diversity/cultural beliefs when delivering care to the populations served at Cass Regional.

• High school education or equivalent and CNA, EMT-B or equivalent certification or experience
• BLS required within 3 months of hire
• NVCI or equivalent class as determined to be required by the facility

Responsibilities

• Assists in the assessment phase of the nursing process for Emergency Department patients.
• Assists in the planning phase of the nursing process for emergency department patients.
• Assists in the implementation phase of the nursing process for emergency department patients.
• Assists in the evaluation phase of the nursing process for emergency department patients.
• Maintains a safe and comfortable unit.
• Perform charting and clerical duties.
• Other duties as assigned
