About The Position

Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to join our Emergency Department. Under the immediate direction of the nurse, ERTs performs non-professional nursing care tasks for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and other duties deemed necessary to provide an environment conducive to patient care. As an Emergency Room Technician, you will perform delegated patient care functions, safely, effectively, timely and efficiently, based on the age and culturally specific needs of the patient populations on the unit served. Communicates effectively with patients and families. Demonstrates effective, collaborative working relationships with other health care team members and across the organization. Participates as an effective unit and nursing department member. Maintains and updates clinical knowledge. Work Schedule: 7 PM-7:30 AM, flex, including every third weekend rotation.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required, plus at least one of the following:
  • Graduate of a nursing assistant program
  • Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician training program
  • Experience in an acute care or long-term care setting as a Nursing Assistant (minimum 2080 hours worked experience)
  • Experience as an Emergency Room Tech or Emergency Dept Tech (minimum 2080 hours worked experience)
  • Current EMT certification (MN and/or National)
  • Current Nursing Assistant certification (MN)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers) required upon start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or Emergency Medical Technician training program
  • Recent work experience in an acute care or hospital setting as a Nursing Assistant or as an Emergency Room Tech/Emergency Dept Tech
  • EMT or Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
