The Employee Engagement Generalist supports the CVA and CHS missions by advocating for the job satisfaction and the health and wellbeing of employees within a person-centered culture.

  • Associate degree (AA or AAS), in related field, preferred, plus two years of experience, or combination of education and experience equal to four years
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable, licensed and insured vehicle

  • Lift, carry, squat, bend, move, push or pull, sit or stand for long intermittent periods
  • Type on a keyboard for long periods

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the HR Team’s compliance by ensuring updated files on employees are maintained for readiness with regulatory surveys and inspections, while staying up to date on internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance is being met. This position will also be working with employees regarding Family Medical Leave Act and Leave of Absence. While also collaborating with the Training Team to help provide training and education to staff on regulatory standards and compliance practices.
  • Track and report compliance metrics to the Human Resource Directors participating in the preparation for inspections and audits; creating and maintaining highly organized records; learning and implementing company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Support Employees by identifying barriers to employee satisfaction and developing strategies to strengthen working relationships; listening to, and advocating for employees; attending and participating in staff meetings; leading recognition, reward, and celebration initiatives in collaboration with Outreach and Communications, and the recognition committee; and identifying opportunities for team building experiences, including supporting CHS Cares initiatives communication
  • Support the HR Team by opening requisitions in the HRIS system screening and qualifying candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and/or conducting phone screenings; answering HR questions; including maintaining relationships with schools, associations, and other entities in the community, and representing the organization at selected events; and providing administrative support for the HR department.
  • Advance interdepartmental harmony by seeking regular feedback from employees about their work experience, analyzing and utilizing the information to the benefit of all employees; monitoring operational employee culture, reporting concerns, and contributing to solutions; designing supportive and collaborative initiatives at the request, and under the approval of the Director of HR; and serving as a mediator in conflict resolution
  • Improve employee work satisfaction by identifying and resolving workplace issues; measuring employee satisfaction, analyzing and utilizing the data to benefit employee culture and experience; conducting surveys to include satisfaction, and exit surveys; recommending action plans to produce positive improvement in working conditions and cultural climate.
  • Strengthen workplace inclusion, diversity accessibility by following Title VII guidelines while maintaining a current and evolving understanding of the workplace.
