The Flight Sciences team encompasses aerodynamics, aircraft performance, aero-propulsion, stability and control, aerodynamic modeling, wind tunnel testing, and flight testing and is responsible for designing and testing high-performance unmanned aircraft. This role is perfect for an engineer with a solid foundation in aerodynamics or flight sciences who is eager to grow, own challenging projects, and see their work move rapidly from concept to flight. Requirements

  • You have a B.S. in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • You have 1+ years of experience in an area of flight sciences (aerodynamics, performance, stability and control, wind tunnel / flight testing, etc
  • You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics
  • Experience scripting or developing software
  • Experience with analysis of large data sets

Responsibilities

  • Support aircraft design from conceptual phase through flight
  • Develop aerodynamic analyses and models for unmanned aircraft, including X-BAT and V-BAT
  • Contribute to V-BAT flight sciences support through flight test data analysis and aircraft performance modeling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including structural engineers, propulsion engineers, flight test engineers, and control systems engineers, to ensure integrated, optimized, and safe aircraft performance
  • Support wind tunnel and flight test events
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
