About The Position

About the team: The intern position will involve the completion of improvement projects within operations. The position will also involve any other responisibilities as described by management in order to improve and/or support operations. What you can look forward to as Engineering Intern:

Requirements

  • Must currently be enrolled in college as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
  • Must have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale
  • Working towards a degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication (to include presentations).
  • Fluent application of position related software (Microsoft Office)
  • Good time management and prioritizing skills, with strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner, and self-starter who takes pride in their work product
  • Interest in Automotive Manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all departments
  • Perform activities in coordination with other ZFTG departments related to process improvement, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and improve KPIs for assigned projects.
  • Utilize basic quality tools along with six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Assist with quality department procedure and work instruction development as needed.
  • Participates in departmental meetings to aid in organizational planning, reaching objectives, and reviewing activities, results, and policies.
  • Follow all company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Must support manufacturing’s goal of continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to PLC, robotics or automation systems.
