Your Role This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and to contribute directly to the production of advanced medical devices that improve lives. This eight-month position, starting in May 2026, offers the opportunity to gain diverse experience in two departments as a split position. The first four-month half of this work term will be as the Quality Engineering Co-op. The second four months will be as the Manufacturing Engineering Co-op.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar degree.
  • Strong analytical technical problem-solving skills of complex processes. Involving mechanical processes, electromechanical equipment, and shop personnel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Design of experiments
  • Statistical analysis of experimental data
  • Statistical process control
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • FDM 3D printing
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Living in Vancouver BC or close-by

Responsibilities

  • The Quality Engineering Co-op will join the Quality Engineering team. This role supports the Quality Engineering Manager in performing root cause analysis investigation of non-conformances and reporting on the results of these investigations.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on transducer non-conformances in the production process by executing controlled destructive tests and systematic deconstruction of products.
  • Develop a structured quality reference library that correlates visual inspection with corresponding ultrasound imaging characteristics and transducer performance data.
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will join the Manufacturing Engineering team and work closely with the production team to support their needs by providing technical support. This role supports the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in driving improvements in production efficiency and increasing quality while reducing costs. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Creation and update of production work instruction documents.
  • Day-to-day troubleshooting and support of production equipment.
  • Concept, design, model, and FDM 3D printed fixtures, shop aids, and other tooling to support efficient and repeatable assembly processes.
  • Assist QA with investigations.
