About The Position

Overview We are seeking a motivated engineering student to join our design team as a Co ‑ op in Piping & Instrumentation (P&ID) Drafting. The role provides hands ‑ on experience with the creation, revision, and management of P&IDs and wiring diagrams using industry ‑ standard CAD tools. The successful candidate will learn to interpret existing piping networks, produce “as ‑ built” documentation, and support engineering change processes.

Requirements

  • Education Currently enrolled in an accredited CAD or Engineering program
  • Academic Standing Minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent)
  • CAD Experience Introductory exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar; willingness to learn Plant ‑ specific tools
  • Technical Aptitude Basic understanding of fluid flow, instrumentation, and electrical concepts (coursework acceptable).
  • Communication Clear written and verbal skills for documenting findings and interacting with engineers.
  • Safety Awareness Ability to follow site safety protocols
  • Strong analytical mindset – can interpret field data and translate it into schematic form.
  • Attention to detail – accurate symbol placement and revision tracking are critical.
  • Proactive learner – self ‑ directed study of standards and willingness to ask questions.
  • Team player – comfortable collaborating with engineers, drafters, and construction personnel.
  • Time ‑ management – ability to juggle coursework with co ‑ op responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • Prior exposure to P&ID symbols
  • Experience with Microsoft Office/SharePoint
  • Participation in a related student project
