Engineering/Planning Intern

Dewberry is currently seeking an Engineering/Planning Intern for Summer 2026 to join our Infrastructure Planning and Funding group in our Rancho Cordova, CA office to work on various client projec ts. The selected staff member will provide support for our local agency clients on various infrastructure planning activities , including competitive grant applications. Requirements
- Be pursuing a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work in a team environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record , and ability to pass a driving record background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and preparation of the planning document related to transportation planning
- Assist with competitive grant applications
- Poses an entry level knowledge of design programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD or GIS to prepare maps to support planning projects and grants.
- Conduct research and data collection necessary for planning - level analysis .
- Provide administrative staff augmentation for local agency clients with Senior staff support (Engineering and Planning - related work)
- Assist with community outreach , ranging from in - person events to online content such as project surveys .
