The Tracked Products Engineering Heavy Structures team is seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader to support the newly formed Worktools team, which includes Hydraulic Mining Shovel buckets, Electric Rope Shovel dippers and Dragline buckets. As an Engineering Project Team Leader, you will lead and oversee multiple worktools projects. Your responsibilities will span coordinating cross-functional activities involving product development, value chain optimization, manufacturing processes, procurement, commercial, and product support. You will be accountable for managing project timelines, budgets, product quality, and ensuring the successful implementation of solutions that address unique challenges within the mining industry. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with engineering peers, platform teams, purchasing, and manufacturing organizations. A solid technical background is essential to support training and onboarding of team members both locally and globally. The position emphasizes a product and process quality–first mindset, with a strong focus on zero defects, while balancing program schedule and cost objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Tracked products or mining industry application knowledge.
  • Prior experience with Surface mining loading tools.
  • Extensive experience heavy structures product design and development.
  • Experience directing project staffing; motivating and developing team members in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills including structural analysis expertise and personal experience performing component level FEA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product introductions (NPI) and provide Engineered to order (ETO) solutions to remain competitive in the marketplace
  • Provide design enhancements for current and legacy products (CPI, NSI, and maintenance) across the full Worktools product portfolio.
  • Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, commercial, and product support.
  • Direct project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
  • Provide leadership for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
  • Oversee project progress, communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.
  • Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
  • Work with the team and business partners to drive validation methods including FEA, test, and field trials.
