The Prototype Engineering Group at RTX is a dedicated team of experts providing comprehensive engineering services for electrical hardware and specialized mechanical materials. We excel in delivering tailored solutions, starting from Bill of Materials (BoM) analysis, including cost and lead-time assessments, through to the final delivery of engineering hardware. Our team specializes in managing the entire lifecycle of circuit card assemblies CCA builds, components, and kitting—from pre-BoM stages to final production—ensuring rapid and responsive support for RTX program's unique requirements. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with advanced Excel functions, including functions such as filters, V-Lookup, and pivot tables, to analyze and manage data efficiently.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in working with complex processes and tools, including inventory control and material procurement databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and provide ongoing status updates to multiple stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Experience in supplier quoting and interface activities that support procurement and supply chain functions.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and hierarchy definitions to develop accurate and actionable work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Parts Planning for Developmental Hardware Builds
  • Collaborate with various organizations and roles to coordinate logistics for engineering electrical and mechanical hardware builds.
  • Interpret Engineering Documentation
  • Analyze engineering drawings, associated documentation, and quality standards to develop manufacturing work methodologies, instructions, and illustrations.
  • Generate and document the "as-built" configuration by capturing the build bill of materials (BOM).
  • Ensure Quality, Cost, and Schedule Compliance
  • Ensure engineering hardware meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and performance.
  • Perform BOM Analysis and Material Management
  • Conduct BOM analysis, purchase components, and generate material status reports
  • Request components from engineering stores and manage the disposition of quality discrepancies and non-conformances.
  • Utilize Engineering and Manufacturing Tools
  • Leverage tools such as SAP, Common PDM, MatTrak, and RAYTrak for effective planning and tracking.
  • Coordinate Program-Specific Objectives
  • Plan and manage kitting requests through engineering stores, avoiding schedule delays with effective inventory control.
  • Assist in processing program requests and shipments while adhering to the established schedule.
  • Work with peers and cross-functional teams to meet program requirements and complete kitting requests on time.
  • Stay informed of engineering objectives, strategies, and support activities.
