About the role: Engineer Technicians support Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural disciplines and assist in design, construction, and maintenance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines. Engineer Technicians play a critical role in translating engineering requirements into executable technical documentation and production support solutions. These positions interface daily with engineering, planning, quality, and deckplate operations to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality ship construction and overhaul Physical/Work Environment: Primarily office with occasional visits to shipyard and production areas. Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with shipyard safety procedures when in industrial areas. Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
