The Laserfiche Administrator serves as the technical and functional owner Laserfiche, of Boston Mutual Life’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform. This role works closely with key business stakeholders and is responsible for user setup and management, workflow configuration, and ongoing administration of Laserfiche, ensuring the platform effectively supports document management, digital workflows, compliance and organizational records retentions requirements for artifacts stored in the ECM. across the organization.  The role works closely with the Infrastructure, Information Security, and Applications Development teams to deliver a secure, efficient, and compliant automation solution with a key integration point with and serving the BMLConnect Policy Administration System, serving as the enterprise document repository for that platform. The role ensures the integration and implementation of Laserfiche is aligned with BML’s operational and regulatory standards, including NYDFS, ISO 27001, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Requirements

  • Systems Administrator: 3+ years' experience administering Laserfiche or a similar ECM platform.
  • Demonstrated ability developing Laserfiche Workflows, Forms and Business processes
  • Understanding of records management, data retention, and compliance frameworks (NYDFS, ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Strong proficiency in Laserfiche Administration Console, Forms, Workflow Designer, and Web Access.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
  • Ability to liaison between product owner, stakeholders, technical experts and facilitate technical discussions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering the best outcome for the business and customers.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with and ability to produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Ability to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, IIS, and Active Directory integration desired
  • Laserfiche Certified Professional (LCP) or higher
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain BML’s Laserfiche environment, including repositories, security configuration, licensing, and user access provisioning.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and patch management in collaboration with IT infrastructure and security teams.
  • Ensure system availability, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Maintain integrations with Active Directory, SQL Server, and other enterprise systems.
  • Design, develop, and deploy automated processes using Laserfiche Forms, Workflow, and Business Process modules, being careful not to replicate or subvert workflow process built into the BML Connect Policy Administration system.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze manual processes and identify document workflow automation opportunities.
  • Maintain and continuously improve existing workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Test, document, and validate all workflow solutions before deployment.
  • Enforce information governance, document retention, and access control policies consistent with NYDFS and BML’s ISMS requirements.
  • Implement auditing and reporting mechanisms to support regulatory compliance and internal reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security team to ensure data integrity, privacy, and protection within Laserfiche repositories.
  • Maintain configuration and change documentation for audit readiness.
  • Support key integrations between Laserfiche and the Majesco (BMLConnect) Policy Admin System, the Digital 1st (D1st) external customer/partner portals along with other enterprise systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM, HRIS, and policy administration systems).
  • Utilize the Laserfiche SDK, REST APIs, and scripting tools to enhance system capabilities.
  • Work with vendors and third-party consultants as needed for advanced customization or upgrades.
  • Provide advanced technical support for Laserfiche users across departments and with our Majesco partners.
  • Develop and deliver user training sessions and documentation to promote adoption and best practices.
  • Serve as the liaison between business users and IS for ECM-related initiatives.
  • Stay informed on Laserfiche product updates, new modules, and ECM product line best practices.
  • Participate in vendor webinars, user groups, and industry forums.
  • Recommend process and configuration improvements to align with BML’s digital transformation strategy.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
