About The Position
Equipment Operator II - Public Works Operations (Streets) Are you a skilled heavy equipment operator looking for a vital role in maintaining our city's infrastructure? The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Streets Division as an Equipment Operator II. Job Summary: Operate heavy motorized equipment for street, drainage and alley maintenance, repair and construction. This includes equipment like backhoes, loaders, dozers, motor graders and dump trucks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of maintenance and construction equipment operation.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment with skill and safety.
- Must possess a valid Class B Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma/GED and heavy equipment experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy motorized equipment.
- Assist in resurfacing and patching roads.
- Load and unload heavy materials (stone, gravel, asphalt).
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Work safely near high-speed traffic.
- Participate in the call-out crew rotation.
