About The Position

A Senior Managing Director at Evercore ISI is seeking to hire an experienced Director / Vice President to support equity research coverage for Enterprise Software and AI companies. This role is based in New York, NY. The position requires a candidate who can publish research independently while also helping coordinate and support the team’s broader research efforts across a group of 5–6 professionals under the Senior Managing Director. The role involves contributing original research, maintaining high-quality financial models, and helping ensure the team operates efficiently across its coverage and client deliverables. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and intellectually curious, with a strong work ethic and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while also driving workstreams independently. Requirements

  • Prior experience covering software or technology companies on the sell-side or buy-side is required
  • 4–8+ years of relevant experience in equity research or buy-side investing (software or technology sector preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to publish research independently and contribute differentiated investment insights
  • Exceptional analytical and Excel modeling capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills; the role entails significant writing, client interaction, and PowerPoint responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and equity markets
  • Familiarity with enterprise software business models and key operating metrics is preferred
  • Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Help coordinate the team’s day-to-day research workflow, including daily and weekly reports, earnings-related publications, and bespoke client requests
  • Author industry and company-specific research reports, including thematic work on enterprise software and AI trends
  • Develop and maintain company-specific and industry financial models
  • Perform financial and valuation analysis of covered companies in the enterprise software universe, including DCF models and comparable analysis
  • Publish timely commentary around earnings, industry developments, and company-specific events
  • Attend industry events and gather information on trends in the enterprise software and AI markets
  • Interact with buy-side clients to discuss investment theses and sector developments
  • Help organize research deliverables, including industry deep dives, client events, and internal research initiatives
  • Oversee data collection and monitor investor news services relevant to the team’s coverage universe
  • Other duties as necessary
