As an Escrow Assistant/Title Processor, you will be at the center of our mission (simplify the homebuying experience) to reshape the industry. UpEquity Title is the in-house title and escrow agent for all UpEquity transactions. Role and Responsibilities: As an Escrow Assistant / Title Processor at UpEquity, you will be a pivotal player to ensure clients and their realtors/lenders get from the initial agreement signed to their new home purchase efficiently and with a high degree of satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Texas title processing and escrow support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in title insurance, escrow, or real estate is a plus. (Having or being eligible for a Texas Escrow Officer license is beneficial, though not mandatory for this role.)
  • Deep knowledge of Texas title insurance procedures, from title search through closing.
  • Proven ability to prepare and clear title commitments, including resolving curative issues on Schedule C.
  • Experience supporting escrow officers and handling real estate closing transactions.
  • Familiarity with Qualia or similar title production software is a strong plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills for effectively working with clients and partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • You must reside in Austin or surrounding areas
  • You must be willing to work in office (Downtown Austin)

Nice To Haves

  • Having or being eligible for a Texas Escrow Officer license is beneficial, though not mandatory for this role.
  • Familiarity with Qualia or similar title production software is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Opening title orders and compiling initial documentation for new files.
  • After receiving the title search from our third party examination team, examining the chain of title and analyzing title searches to identify any issues or clouds on title.
  • Confirming title commitments.
  • Clearing Schedule C requirements.
  • Ordering payoffs, HOA documents, and tax certificates as needed to satisfy title requirements.
  • Reviewing surveys and legal descriptions for accuracy and ensuring they meet title insurance standards.
  • Updating commitments and title documentation as conditions are met and issues are resolved.
  • Supporting the Escrow Officer in all aspects of the closing process, from file opening to pre-closing follow-up.
  • Maintaining organized escrow files and tracking all incoming and outgoing documents to ensure no detail is overlooked.
  • Handling communications with clients, lenders, realtors, and other stakeholders, providing status updates and coordinating information as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date file notes for the Escrow Officer to audit the file once ready.
