About The Position

The Esports Broadcast Student Worker is responsible for operating live broadcasts of College of DuPage Esports matches and events. This role focuses on the technical and production side of esports, ensuring that COD matches are presented in a professional and engaging manner for online audiences. Applicants should have prior experience with OBS or similar broadcast software and a strong interest in esports production. Casting (live commentary) experience is a bonus, but not required.

Requirements

• THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
• If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
• If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
• Prior experience with OBS or similar broadcasting/streaming software required.
• Knowledge of audio/visual equipment (microphones, webcams, capture cards, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly during live events.
• Interest in esports and willingness to learn more about broadcast production.
• Flexibility to work evenings/weekends to cover matches.

Responsibilities

• Operate live broadcasts for COD Esports matches and events using OBS and other streaming tools.
• Prepare streams in advance with overlays, titles, audio levels, and scene transitions.
• Monitor live production quality and troubleshoot issues in real time.
• Coordinate with coaches, players, and assistants to ensure broadcasts start smoothly.
• Archive and organize recordings for future use (e.g., highlight reels, VODs, social media content).
• (Optional) Provide live commentary/casting or recruit/coordinate with volunteer casters.
• Other duties as assigned.
