About The Position

The Event Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of corporate group programs. Knowledge of food and beverage basics, vendor management, menu planning, and event coordination.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year full-service hotel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage basics, vendor management, menu planning, and event coordination
  • Basic knowledge of hospitality industry
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extremely detail oriented personality
  • Professional appearance and deportment

Responsibilities

  • Ensures food and beverage revenue requirements and contractual obligations are met for all corporate group contracts turned over by the group sales department
  • Prepare and distribute relevant banquet event orders and group resumes ten days in advance
  • Timely response to all turnovers, telephone calls and emails
  • Work closely with sales and group reservations team on room block management
  • Monitor the presentation and service of coordinated functions and ensure introduction of the client to the operational management and staff
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, seating, and table arrangements, lighting and basic audio/visual equipment
  • Responsible for ensuring planning information regarding food & beverage event orders, group resumes, room diagrams, rooms blocks, and final billing is communicated to the appropriate departments
  • Knowledge of the physical requirements and operational restrictions of the Stein Eriksen Lodge as they relate to functions
  • Assist with sales site visits and planning sites as needed
  • Ensure short and long-term use of available function space in order to maximize revenue complimenting room sales objectives
  • Required to work late nights and weekends as required by program agenda
