We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented graduate intern to support key initiatives focused on team member experience, internal brand engagement, and guest touchpoints. At Surf Air Mobility, our unique graduate and doctoral internship offers a leadership role in the intersection of aviation and technology, driving a "green-tech" revolution through aircraft electrification and advanced software. Interns apply advanced academic insights to real-world challenges in organizational culture and brand experience. This position offers unmatched access to senior leadership, allowing direct influence on high-level strategy. With a flexible, open-ended timeline accommodating academic schedules, you will drive projects from research to implementation, building a portfolio with strategic ROI.

Requirements

  • Advanced Academic Foundation: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s or PhD program in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Systems Thinking: A demonstrated ability to view projects through a holistic lens, understanding how Employee Experience (EX) and Internal Branding impact broader Customer Experience (CX) and business outcomes.
  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, engaging messaging for diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Leadership: Proven experience managing multi-faceted projects from conception to completion, with a high degree of organizational rigor and attention to detail.
  • Digital Fluency: Mastery of collaborative and creative platforms, including Google Workspace and project management software (e.g., Asana, Miro).
  • Analytical Research Skills: The ability to independently research industry benchmarks, synthesize findings, and provide data-backed recommendations for culture and brand enhancements.
  • Agility & Initiative: A proactive, self-starting mindset comfortable with the ambiguity and pace of a high-growth, innovative aviation technology environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with visual design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Management: Own and drive key workstreams within Brand and Experience initiatives, ensuring alignment with Surf Air Mobility’s long-term organizational goals and guest-first philosophy.
  • Experience Design (EX/CX/UX): Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to analyze and optimize touchpoints across the User, Customer, and Employee Experience journeys, identifying opportunities for systemic improvement.
  • Internal Brand Advocacy: Lead the tactical execution of company-wide culture initiatives, managing the development and deployment of internal communications, assets, and environmental branding.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage complex administrative projects and operational procedures related to guest experience, including the end-to-end coordination of airport lounge renovation workstreams and stakeholder follow-ups.
  • Culture Integration: Synthesize the company’s "Ground Rules" into actionable cultural moments, developing creative programs that embed our core values into the daily employee experience.
  • Research & Benchmarking: Conduct competitive research on best practices in branding, internal communications, and travel in the electrification era to provide data-driven recommendations for experience enhancements.
