Experienced Technician and Programmer - Smart Home AV Systems
About The Position
Luxury Residential Smart Homes $30–$44 per hour based on experience + $100 per overnight travel night This is an hourly, non-exempt role. If you are an expert in Lutron and understand how AV, networking, and control tie together, you will thrive here. What You’ll Do Program and commission Lutron lighting and shading systems Configure and support Savant and integrated AV control systems Build racks, terminate wiring, and deliver clean, serviceable installs Test, optimize, and finalize complete home systems Troubleshoot complex system interactions on-site and remotely Work inside finished luxury homes where precision matters What You Need 2+ years programming and installing residential AV systems in private homes Solid experience with Lutron HomeWorks systems required Experience with Savant preferred Strong understanding of networking fundamentals Ability to think holistically across lighting, AV, and control platforms Clean wiring and rack-building skills Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders Valid driver’s license If you are strong in Lutron but growing in AV control, or vice versa, we will invest in you. Travel Travel is an essential function of this role Projects in Philadelphia and NYC are common Overnight stays may be required Longer-distance travel may occur, including destinations such as Miami or the Bahamas. Requirements
- 2+ years programming and installing residential AV systems in private homes
- Solid experience with Lutron HomeWorks systems required
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Ability to think holistically across lighting, AV, and control platforms
- Clean wiring and rack-building skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders
- Valid driver’s license
