About The Position

The Facilities and Grounds Person is responsible for keeping the buildings clean and in orderly condition, performing heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Conducting routine maintenance activities, painting, plumbing, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred
  • The ability to use basic measurement tools
  • Hands on experience with basic tools
  • Willingness to be flexible on hours worked
  • Must be able to analyze problems and make rational decisions with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a positive attitude and enjoy working with others
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and waxing
  • Clean windows, doors, glasses, and mirrors
  • Change filters on air handling units
  • Service clean and restock restrooms
  • Run the floor scrubber on a weekly schedule
  • Perform minor repairs needed throughout the facility
  • Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected
  • Organize storage areas
  • Ensure grounds are clean and orderly
  • Dispose of materials using pallet jack
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Wipe down door handles and high touch areas with sanitizing solution
  • Promote good housekeeping and maintain a safe work environment for all employees. Set an excellent example for others to follow
  • Communicate effectively with shift supervisor, operators, and other department personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Assists maintenance fixing issues withing the facility
