About The Position

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Grounds and Facilities Associate is responsible for performing maintenance and repair on all Township grounds and facilities as directed, from prioritized projects through the maintenance request process and/or as instructed by the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include planting, pruning, weeding, topsoil dressing and seeding, cultivating trees and flowers, mowing, string trimming, minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry work as directed and assists the Department with internal renovation projects including painting, carpeting, and tiling. The Grounds and Facilities Associate ensures all Township grounds and facilities are maintained, that all equipment is in efficient running order, and is cared for properly. Performs other duties as required for the successful operation of the Department. This non-exempt position has a pay rate of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on qualifications). The hours are typically Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:00pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required based on need.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Three years of experience in a landscape maintenance role focused on native stewardship and ornamental plantings
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office related applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and repair on all Township grounds and facilities as directed
